Chef/Owner Stephanie Rejtig has a passion for food. She started cooking at the age of three with her grandmother, countless aunts and most important her incredible mother who though never used a recipe, always put out delicious food. Stephanie uses those experiences and memories in her kitchen every day.
After a successful career in the fashion industry and several years spent caring for her active son and foodie husband, both whom love home cooking, Chef Stephanie embraced her lifelong passion (dare we say, obsession?) for food and enrolled in culinary school.
She graduated from the prestigious Institute of Culinary Education, Stephanie has re-entered the work force as a chef. She is currently working at the world-renowned Union Square Events working for the master restauranteur, Danny Meyer.
After many enjoyable meals with friends and family around her “Kitchen Counter” Stephanie decided to launch cooking classes for everyday cooks to share her passion for delicious, easily prepared home-cooked meals.
Stephanie’s Kitchen Counter cooking classes are held in Chef Stephanie’s professional grade home kitchen in her beautifully decorated home in Rye, NY. This intimate setting creates a relaxed space that makes cooking fun and conversation flow.
Stephanie believes cooking should be filled with love, joy, passion and a glass of wine. She is ready to share it all with you.
